I have a Belkin router connected to my cable modem. I recently installed a Belkin range extender to increase my signal coverage. This system worked fine until yesterday. I noticed after our power went out briefly that the searching light on the range extender was blinking. So I took the range extender and reconfigured it as per the instructions in the manual. The reconfiguration appeared to be successful, but when I repositioned the range extender, the searching light blinked continuously and the extender never located the router. I tried the reset and restore facilies to no avail. Belkin email support tends to simply cut and paste from the user's manual, like I haven't already tried everything in there! Any suggestions out there??
I should mention that I am a proud Mac user, so my desktop is an iMac and my laptop is an iBook G4 with Airport.
You had better luck than I . I have spent days with the level 1,2,3 Belkin techs to no avail. Have received a replacement unit which was just as bad as the 1st unit. Basically the belking set software does not acknowedge that I have selected my network to connect to. Also when I ran the "Ping " test on both units, 25% of the pings timed out. Thanks
