Exclamation Can Connect to the Router but Cannot Connect to the Internet

Hi,
I'm new to these forums and I am having a big problem. I have a Linksys Wireless-B Router, and for the past two days, I have been trying to use my girlfriend's laptop to connect to it. I'm 16 years old, and I know quite a bit about computers, but when it comes to wireless networking, I am completely clueless. I have no idea what WEP or encryption is, but I'm pretty sure it's disabled. All I know about this is that when I went to the view available networks window before, my router would show up, and I would easily be able to click connect, and it would connect to the router, and then the internet.

And then about three nights ago, out of nowhere, it just disconnected. I know that the Wireless-B router from linksys has a lot of problems with a lot of people, but normally, I'd be able to reset it, re-congifure it, and it would work again, so I tried, and it didn't work. I updated the firmware, and it didn't work. I called, and I had no luck either. The problem now is that the router will show up on the laptop in the wireless networks available window, but when I click connect, it will connect to the router, but won't connect to the internet. I have no idea where to even start. Can anyone give me some kind of step-by step maybe? I can find out and give any more information, if needed, as well. The laptop runs on Windows XP and its a Dell Inspiron 710m.

Thank you for your time.

Oh yeah, and I have a Speedstream DSL Modem, and I CAN connect to the internet on this computer, which is the one that hosts the router and my DSL modem.
