Default Can see wireless network but cannot connect, sony laptop.

Hi,

I have a BT homehub and am trying to connect a new laptop i have been given.

I can see the router through wireless network connection 2 on XP. But when i click connect and input the password it goes to the please wait while windows connects.

Then nothing happens... I get no box come up. The loading screen just goes and it doesnt connect.

Ive tried setting the ip's. Also in IPCONFIG it says media state disconnected for the wireless card. Im not rly a noob when it comes to wireless but this has stumped me.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

Will

Default What I have noticed

with my HP laptop is that when I have the onboard card running and my USB adapter running that I will get connected local and internet on one wireless connection and local only on the second wireless connection. But if I either disable one of the two cards or have them connected to two different access points, all works well.

If you are using second wireless cards (USB or otherwise) disable your internal cards and see what happens
