Default Can see wireless networks but can't connect

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if some delightful person would be able to help me with my problem? We recently just got a new wireless router put in our house and i'm trying to connect to the network. I can see the option of 'wireless networks available' with a list of them and their signal strengths. However when I click on 'connect' I cannot seem to get past this point. Usually it asks for a password to connect to the network but I am not even getting to this point. I click 'connect to network' and NOTHING happens. No system error or anything. I used to live with my parents and use their wifi connection with no trouble at all. Ive tried to set up a new connection or network, even deleted my parents one from the system but still the same problem. I just don't understand it. Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it? I would be ETERNALLY grateful.

Thanks, Meg
