Cannot Connect outside of home

I am having troubles connecting to the internet using wifi other than that at my home. When I go to the network sharing center, it shows that my computer is connected to the network, but the network is not connected to the internet. This has occurred multiple times, in fact every time I have tried. When I try to diagnose the problem, my computer says that there might be a problem with the domain name server (DNS). Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong? Thank you!
