My wireless connection is now only lasting about 5minutes and will not come back online until after a shut down or changing a setting under the wireless property box then changing back. The wireless is then dropped about 5 minutes later and i have to repeat the proccess. I am using a 128bit wep connection from a netgear router to a Dell inspiron 6400 running windows XP (sp3).
The router appears to be fine, 2 iPhones are also connecting fine to this same router.
I re-created a new network connection- this lasted about an hour then BAM.
The routers settings have not changed in over a year (multiple macs are allowed)
I only have the windows wireless utility- I removed the dell one about a year or so back after they kept fighting. The windows is set to manage the wireless, finding it automatically (when it tries to work atleast).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Ive been lurking around this site for a few days hunting for simular problems, but this one seems kinda unique.
