Default Cannot see router

I just reformatted and reinstalled windows xp professional, service pack 1 on the machine. When I installed, the card, a TrendNET TEW-423PI was not in the machine. Prior to the reinstall the card worked fine. I know my wireless router, a Dlink DI-614, is still working because I have no problems with my Mac OSX PowerBook getting out to the world.

After the reinstall of Windows XP, I installed the wireless card and the software.

The signal of the card is very good to excellent.

The router sees the card login on the wireless side. The router cannot ping the card. The machine can ping itself through IP and localhost, but cannot ping the router and of course cannot ping the other machines on the network.

I've tried two different IPs. I've tried reinstalling the router software. I have the MAC addresses filtered through the router, but the MAC address is correct and is the same as before when it was working.

I do not have the windows firewall on nor any virus software at this point.

My IP settings are:
192.168.22.10 (i've tried 3 and 4)
255.255.255.0
192.168.22.1 (router)

According to windows there are no hardware conflicts.
PowerSave mode is off

Any other ideas outside of reinstalling while the card is installed? I'd love to just toss the windows box out the window and just use my Mac, but I have a windows related project I must get done.

Thanks!
Rebecca

Okay, I just plugged in the ethernet nic, but I had the move the computer across the room to do so and now it's headless. The ethernet card has a green light on both the router and the card itself. I still cannot ping the pc on either interface :*-(

Certainly sounds like one for the wierd pile. I doubt that reinstalling Windows with the card in would fix it as Windows will not install a driver for the card until after installation.

Ideally don't install the wireless utility software included with the card, just the driver as Windows XP built-in wireless management usually does a better job than most third party utilities. Mind you that won't solve the fundamental problem.

I do have some questions though. Is the Ethernet card made by VIA and is it onboard or PCI? Was the wireless card placed in the first PCI slot after the AGP slot?
