computer wont recognize wireless modem

i've had the same laptop working fine for 2.5 years. after spilling a SMALL amount of water on the keyboard a few days ago, my sound/audio has completely disappeared and my wireless light is red (its usually blue) and when i try to connect with wireless, the computer does not pick up any networks (which is unusual since there are many around). the drivers are up to date. I have an HP pavilion dv2000t, and i'm pretty sure it has 2 modems inside, a regular internet netork and a wireless, but the device manager sees only one and my regular cable intenet hookup is fine. what the heck is going on? anyone?
