Dear all,
I'm new to wireless technology and I inted to set up a home wireless network to connect my desktop, currently with a PCI Ralink card, and a laptop.
First off, I've never done it before and after doing some reading it transpired that I had to follow the Windows (Im using Xp on both) wizard in order to configure it. So i did. The first screen asked me to name the network, and after that I get 2 options: to configure it manually or from a USB unit (roughly since my XP is in Spanish). When I chose "manually" I get a warning saying that "depending on the wireless software running on this pc, the wizard may not work". In fact it doesnt.
Now, I've been unable to get any support from Ralink (Rat-link??) after emailing them, and their website doesn't seem to embrace any means to ask for help. Ultimatelly, I'd rather not call China.
It's worth pointing out that the card does work in terms of connecting my desktop to the wireless internet, so it has been doing that job more or less efficiently.
This all info I can provide, If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Pablo
