Connection to Unsecured NetGear wireless network

Hi There,

Please help me resolving this problem for which I have been trying from last 2 days and no success .

When I turn on the wireless option on my Laptop (Compaq Presario), it gives me a list of some wireless networks with NetGear as an unsecured network.Now when I try to connect my Laptop with this network it simply does not connect to it.I have tried almost everything which I can but all in vain.I have tried WZC as well but nothing is working.I am using Windows XP as OS.

PLeaseeeeeeeeee let me know , how I can do it.
