Hi my name is Alan. i am wanting to create a wireless network to service around 215 houses

I have looked all over the net for the right info on if its possible but always find conflicting responses

i am trying to create a secure network over a neighborhood that can support all the latest Tec and be reliable

i would like to basically know what i would have to do to create a wifi network like:

* * * we are wanting to servicing houses between the dots. Without cables. With people only needing a wifi dongle to connect.

perimeters: Min 300M end to end
300$ per dot * max budget

Linksys WRT54Gs work nicely, spaced <= .2 miles apart

just plug internet into a router WAN port. if you plug in more than one, clients connect to the closest one. if you have more than one internet source and one fails the mesh just routes people to another

2: dose bandwidth reduce much with the more Linksys WRT54Gs pluged in
3: what sort of program would you use to moniture it all and create time specific logins

Am i able to charge network acess if i am using the Freifunk Firmware

Google search DD-WRT firmware and check out thier site and forums. It is a virtual treasre trove of wirless networking in general and all of the many ways a DD-WRT Linksys wireless router can be used.
