Default DLink WDS

Hi

Really need help i have an old Dlink g604t that i want to use as wireless bridge. With the original firmware v1 there is no WDS but according to google you can upgrade to v3 and this then gives you WDS functionality. I have downloaded this firmware in both exe form and and web form and get get either to load onto the router. Please can someone point me in the right direction

Thanks
