Default Extend hub range

I am a 76 year old bloke with very little idea of what happens when I click on things - tech level 6" under ground level.
I have an Internet radio. It has to stay in the kitchen. I have a BT wireless hub - latest and allegedly powerful. The hub is in my study at the other end of the house from the kitchen. It has to stay there. The Internet radio occasionally gives up with error 'weak signal' My Asus notebook thing works OK on the signal from study to kitchen as does my iPod Touch 2nd gen.
What I would like to know is whether I can install some form of repeater hub somewhere sort of mid-way between the study and the kitchen? Existing hub in study talks to the second one which then talks to the radio in the kitchen. Is this possible - would any hub do or do I need a special hub or rebro hub? Any legal implications? Words of one syllable much appreciated - make and model number of what would work ideal.
TIA

Default repeater/range extender

Yes, there are devices available called range extenders or repeaters that are available to do just what you are wanting. Yes, it is perfectly legal.
All brands make these.. Linksys, Netgear, Buffalo, ect.

Google "Wifi Range Extender" and/or "WiFi Repeater"

For what you are wanting, one make/brand is just as good as another. Go midprice. Cheapstuff is unreliable, expensive stuff has features few really need.
