Hi there!
I am having a lot of troubles to set up a wireless repeater to work at home. I would appreciate your suggestions on the following:
I have a 3com ADSL/Wireless (3CRWDR101A-75) router giving access to the internet to a wired local network at home (2 wired linux boxes).
I want to extend the WLAN cover to an upper floor, to connect a couple of wireless stations (linux desktops with wireless NIC cards). For this purpose I have bought a 3com AP (3CRWE45G75), which supports 4 different modes: Default AP (access to a wired networt, not useful in my case), AP Client, AP Repeater and WDS.
I guess the best choice is to set the AP as a repeater of the router downstairs. However, when I enter the MAC of the remote router and set the AP as a repeater, the AP starts to reboot continuosly (I have tried a different unit and it does just the same, I have also tried to update the firmware, and still it does the same).
Any suggestions, ideas o experience with these 3com AP's ???
Thanks!
