Help setting up a wifi hotspot

I am trying to create a free wifi hotspot at my business next door. My primary router (wireless) is located at my home and connected to a hub at my business. I connected another wireless router to the hub at my business to act as an access point for the hotspot. I turned off dhcp and changed the local ip to 192.168.1.2 on the second router (AP). The problem is that all my shared devices are showing up when i connect through the access point. Can I change the subnet mask to a differnet subnet to create another network with the same internet access and separate my network from the hotspot network??

what you want is a VLAN - a Virtual LAN. One port is isolated from the network but communicates with the router. you would need to dig through your router manual to see if you have this capability.

Thanks, I understand tomato firmware will do this. I have downloaded it to my wrt54g acting as my access point. Not sure how to set up the vlan, Any pointers?

after further research, i discovered that network separation can be achieved by plugging the lan port of my hub (primary network) into the wifi hotspot AP WAN port. Apparently the wireless AP will only be able to see the internet connection and not the rest of the LAN. It seems to work great. Thanks for the pointers.
