Default How can I use a Wireless Router as Wireless Adapter?

I have an extra wireless router (D-Link DI-524) and I was wondering if I could use it as a Wireless Adapter to connect my Xbox360 to Xbox Live.

I know I can use a laptop and share the connection with the xbox/router. But I would like to use the router to connect to the access point wirelessly and then plug the xbox to the router.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how can I do this?

I tried searching the forums but I couldn't find anything.

From what I have looked up, the DI-524 cannot function as a bridge/gaming adapter. It can only work in Gateway mode.

I recently bought the DWL-G820 bridge/gaming adapter for my xbox 360, and it works good, haven't had a problem so far . I got it off Compusa.com. They have it cheaper than anywhere else, and it got here in three days .

A big plus about this one is that it can be configured on the xbox itself, so you don't need to connect it to a computer to pre configure it. But before it goes on the console I'd connect it to a computer and update the firmware, because I don't think you can via xbox.

Thanks for your response. I'll look into the DWL-G820

I just did this and it works great.

Not sure if it will work for your router but its worth a try maybe. Just be real careful since flashing new firmware can damage (brick) your router if not done right.

Cheers.
