I just had the system board and internal wireless card replaced on my Toshiba Portege Tablet. (The card is Intel.)
Although I have no problems connecting to my wireless network, my connection completely drops at times - and then comes back. I have 5 other PCs on the wirelenss network and am NOT having any challenges with any of them.
Is there a piece of software (preferably freeware) that I could use to test how stable my connection is? I guess I'd need something that would monitor the connection and then I'd look at a report after a period of time... Because the drop is so inconsistent, I think the way to determine if there's a challenge is to use monitoring software.
You could try Netstumbler. It might have some stuff to help you monitor your connection. But I think its mostly for monitoring signal strength. Give it a try.
As a network analyzer Capsa make it easy for us to monitor and analyze network traffic in its intuitive and information-rich tab views. With Capsa's network traffic monitor feature, we can quickly identify network bottleneck and detect network abnormities. Another thing is URL Snooper is a free Windows software that lets you monitor your network connections and see the addresses of all the files
