Internet connection Problems

I wonder if you can help me?

I cant get my laptop to connect online. Even when using a cable. I brought home m work laptop and it connected first time.

I tried installing a firewall on it last night and something failed so I unistalled it. now the pc wont connect.

I know very little about computers so am baffled.

Basically it tell me
that it cant get a valid IP address, maybe the pc is bloacking it.

all the repair tools seem to fail too.

Try a system restore to the date before you tried to install the firewall. That might fix it .
