Internet randomly slow
Just bought a new router and adapter to go with my new spiffy internet connection about a month ago. I started having problems with my adapter on day 1, but somehow fixed it within a few hours by simply toying around with some settings.
Now, the problem I am having is that at random times, and very often, my connection will sort of "hang". Pages will refuse to load, or load halfway or sometimes will just never finish loading. However, hitting the refresh button will reload it entirely. My thought is that it is the adapter seeing as that I am the only one having problems with it on the network of 3 other computers. The funniest part is that even when it wont load anything, the icon in the tray still says I have excellent signal strength, speed is anywhere from 117-130mbps and that it's connected...
Now, I do use an ancient laptop with Windows XP SP2, but it has yet to fail me and I don't want to ditch it yet ($$$ is hard right now...).
Here are my specs:
Adapter: NETGEAR WN111v2
Router: NETGEAR WNR2000
