Laptop does not detect Wireless Network

Hello,

I live in a flat and we have been using our neighbours wireless network for the last few months. My laptop hard drive recently packed in and now that I have replaced the drive and reinstalled windows the network is no longer detected on my pc. My flat-mate is still able to access the network with his desktop so i know it's still there but i cant understand why it no longer shows up.

Please help

Do you have inbuilt wireless or a PCMCIA or USB adapter? If you could supply details on the type of adater this would help.

Also make sure that if your card has its own wireless connection management software that the Wireless Zero Configuration service has been disabled.

My wireless is inbuilt. I believe it's an Intel 2200 adaptor.

The confusion arises from the fact that I still detect numerous other networks in range, but the network I connected to before no longer shows up...I am aware that the network is still live as my housemate still connects to it. Also, I used to be able to connect before I replaced my drive and reinstalled XP...all very mysterious to me!

Reinstall the latest drivers for the card using ones supplied from the laptop manufacturer. Also update the router or access point firmware if possible as some models act a bit wierd with Intel clients.
