I have a wireless N router and USB receiver. I am running Windows XP. There is nothing wrong with the router (4 other computers on the network have no problems. I am the only one using XP. My drivers are updated.
It says my signal stength is very good, but I cannot connect to the network. For a few minutes it will say "acquiring network address" but will never connect. Either it will say that indefinitely or sometimes it will change to "limited or no connectivity."
I've been using this router and card on this computer for about 2 months with no problems. This came up just yesterday. I had made no changes to my system.
I followed the instructions in the following link, and it fixed my problem for about an hour. No I'm right back where I started.
Continuously “Acquiring Network Address” Content Management etc.
If anybody else has run into this problem or knows how to fix it I'd appreciate it. I'm a novice with tech stuff so I'm pretty lost here.
