I have a desktop with Linksys Wireless-N Home Router Model # WRT 120N that broadcasts to my laptop, which is typically located a floor down. Both machines run Windows 7.
I have had this set up for at least a couple of years with good performance. Lately, my wifi connection on the laptop gets dropped several times a day. After replugging the router, it seems to come back for a short while.
In addition, when I try to connect to a different network temporarily (neighbour) and then try to come back to my home network, it stalls completely, trying to connect by unable to. I am unable to even call up the networks menu to switch to the neighbours wifi.
Is it the router, my network adapter or something else? Do I need to simply replace the router?
Tech support said that they can reconfigure the router for 30-40 dollars or we can just buy a new one for about the same price. If I wanted to try reconfiguring the router myself (if that's of any use), what would I need to know?
