Default networking 2 wireless routers

hello, and thank you in advance for your help, i have just followed the advice given here:
http://www.wirelessforums.org/networ...ters-5078.html
and still have had no luck setting up my routers.
my new router is a dlink dir-615 running the first firmware version 1.00, (tried the 1.10 version and it seemed that i had no wireless internet even when just using that router)
my old router is a netgear wgr614v6 running original firmware.
what i am trying to do:
i have a long ethernet cable running about 300 feet to another building for my internet (has been ran for a while). at one house i have the netgear wireless router (it has to stay there i have one hardwired computer connected to it and one wireless computer connected to it). from the netgear at this house, i have my 300 foot ethernet cable running to the other house, which is where im wanting to set up a new wireless network using the dlink. (i recently purchased a laptop and would like to have wireless at the house to).
currently i can not access my netgear router using either 192.168.0.2 (which is what i renamed it to) or the original 192.168.1.1.
i did not set up both networks with security or with the same network name (i dont mind me having to connect twice)
i have tried it flip flopping the routers also to no avail.
there also is a funny thing about this, if i set set up the netgear as the first router and have my dlink connected off it, and just do a reset of the dlink, i can connect to the internet via wired, but not wireless, and i can not connect to the router using the 192.168.0.1. (this is where im at right now)
if i can be of any further assistance let me know.
thank you for all your help in advance.

update: i got 2 bsod screens on my laptop that was connected wirelessly to the dlink, i then removed the pcmcia card and restarted the computer, which allowed it to get past the bsod screens, told that my system had recovered from a serious error, twice, then i try to get online wirelessly one more time before i go to be (almost 2 am and im tired) and it works, thank you Lord, then i try wired via another computer, and it works, thank you Lord. the only thing that is left for me to do is actually take the router up to the other house and try it there (i had had it connected exactly like it would be up at the other house except with a short ethernet cord here (that way i dont have to travel back and forth testing it)). i intend on posting the final results in the later morning or afternoon. thank you so much anyway. and im still curious as to why i can not access my dlink setting (i would like to secure it) and why it works, still would appreciate an answer on those) thanks sjonesy

ookay its morning, and ive been trying again. i uploaded the newest firmware via a hard wired line. so im at firmware version 1.1. my laptop does pick up the signal and connects to the router. however i can not get to the dlink setup and i can not get online via my laptop. however my hard wired line i can connect and am right now to the internet but can not connect to the routers setup. i do want the latest firmware installed because the router did seem to drop the connection between the laptop when i had it hooked normally yesterday. (i have read this is a common problem with these routers on their initial firmware 1.00) looking forward to your replies and help. thanks sjonesy2

hello, again, i have managaed to get it to work with firmware version 1.1, but i kind of cheated. i have a switch and needed it so i connected that to the ethernet line running between the two houses and then from there connected a ethernet cable from one of the lans on the switch to the wan of the dlink. this seemed to have solved all my problems i can access the setup of the dlink from a computer that is connected either wireless or wired to the dlink directly or connect to the netgear from a computer connected to the switch. i am very satisfied with that. i do still have times when connected wireless it drops the connection. for instance i tried to download the newest version of ubuntu, i have always wanted to play with it and never have, via being connected wireless to my laptop from the dlink. it lost the connection very shortly after the download began and me not surfing the net for anythign else just letting the computer download it. im going to try and make sure it is the dlink router and not the dlink card or any software on my laptop soon, and i might even reload the firmware again to the router unless that is an unwise idea. anyway im still looking for your help, thanks sjonesy2
