networking over distance!

Basic Newbie question.
im not a I.T. guy, however doing home networking isnt very difficult.
were i work we have a surveillance system housed on one end of the property. this system is in its own building with no networking.
im trying to broadcast a signal were i can dial into a router down there.
the problem is. the building is 600-650 feet away and a couple apartment buildings are within the line of sight. "i work for the appartment complex"
i know a n router will not make the reach. im trying to find a "cost efficient" way of doing this. advice needed.
