There are many number of reasons this might not work. Commonly, there is a keystroke used to turn on the radio on some laptops. This keystroke is usually a combination of the "Function" key (usually written "Fn" on the keyboard and found near the bottom) and one of the F# keys on the top of the keyboard (ie. "F1", or "F2" one of those kind of keys). There is typically some type of icon on the correct F# key, like a radio tower or somthing else approriate.
