Here the situation, I have a Netgear WGR614 that I cannot connect directly to my computer because there are no ethernet ports on it. The computer has a DSL connection through a Thomson ST Remote NDIS Device according to the Local Area Connection properties and I have connected the router to the ethernet port on the modem and according to the status lights I have internet into the router and I configured it on my laptop. I can connect to the wireless signal but I can't actually access the internet. I tried doing the setup on the disk again and it wants me to connect the router between the computer and the modem and says that it requires the computer to use DCHP but when the setup configures the computer for DCHP I lose my connection which is currently setup for static IP. Does anyone have any suggestions?
