Phone doesn't identify zylex wireless SSID

I've just installed a small zylex p-320w router in my home (i had a neatgear) and my android phone (htc desire s) doesn't see the ssid anymore. The internet connection is pppoe, but I think this is of no relevance. The two laptops that I have can connect without any problem to the network.
Any suggestions? Is this the case of pure incompatibility?
