set up wireless, having problems with DC++

I set up a wireless connection and everything works fine except my DC++ or other p2p programs as well (DC++ based - RevConnect, RMDC++...). I only get a few search results when in passive mode and that sux - when I switch to active mode, I don't get any search results at all. Is there any way that I could switch to active mode and it would actually work? thank you
