Set up wireless network xp > win 7

Hi,

I've been trying to set up a wireless network between my old windows xp desktop pc and my new windows 7 laptop without much success.

I've gone in to the set up network wizard on my pc and followed the steps on there to set up via a usb flash drive. The step of plugging that drive in to every computer I want to the network I've done by taking the flash drive and plugging it in to my windows 7 laptop, That does it's thing and says it's been successfully added to the network. Then plug the flash drive back in to my pc and click next and finish the wizard.

After all that neither computer (shared docs etc) shows the other one is there, File and printer sharing etc is turned on.

If someone can offer any advice about what I've done wrong then it will be greatly appreciated.
