sometimes i can connect sometimes not

I have recently installed a pci wireless network card. I am sharing my neighbours wireless internet connection with him. Sometimes I can connect to the internet and other times I can´t. When my neighbour is using the internet I can´t connect to it. If he isn´t using it then I can get onto the internet (like now). If I am using the internet and he connects to the internet then my connection is cut off and then I can´t get back on again until he is finished.

I have spent days trying to make it work properly but can´t figure it out. I am using windows xp and using the wlan utility that came with the network card. I have tried to get rid of the utility so as to use xp´s network connection thing but when i uninstall the utulity it seems to uninstall the hardwear too.

I´m confussed, please help
