I have been using my Belkin router for about a week now with no problems. However, when I decided to add a password and make my network secure, it no longer functions properly. With the password (WPA I think) set, my internet connection becomes sporadic. I have full connectivity to the network, but the internet will only work for about 30-40 seconds and then cuts out for up to a minute.
If I disable the password and go back to using the connection unsecured, the problem goes away.
I've been searching the web and lots of people have problems with sporadic connections, but none of them seem to be linked to security settings. Any ideas on what the problem could be?
My internet provider is comcast, and the devices I am trying to connect are an Imac, 2x eee pc netbooks, and a Wii. All of these devices experience the same problem.
