Default Thinkpad Access Connections show connected but no Internet Access

I have a Thinkpad T61. I have connected this laptop to wireless networks everywhere for the past 3 yrs with no problems. I am currently at my dad's and am unable to connect through ethernet or wireless. Both connections show they are connected and operational, but I'm unable to connect to the internet. I connect to the Linksys router, and have put in the WEP key for wireless. Any suggestions?
