TP-link WDS Bridge config
Have just picked up a new TL-WR941ND to WDS Bridge to my TL-WR740N.
After reading online guides on how to do this I thought sounds simple enough. Seems I am missing something which I I can't for the life of me figure out.
Have set up the 941ND as the AP connected to my Modem and not turned on WDS on that device. I understand only the secondary device [WR740N] needs to be WDS enabled and linked to the source.
I cannot determine what my IP addresses need to be... for now they are :-
192.168.1.1 Modem [Default Gateway]
192.168.2.1 941ND SSID: STAR / DHCP on
192.168.3.1 740N SSID: SUN / WDS Enabled / DHCP on
I get a wifi connection on STAR.
I do NOT on SUN.
The guide I used mentioned disabling DHCP. If I do that, it will kill the IP I have assigned to the router.
I'm sure it's a simple one ! Heeeeelp
Notice this thread is 3 month old, but yet not a single reply posted. Have you figure out the problem yet? If so, would you mind putting your solutions here so that others can benefit from it.
If not, try following this steps and see if it works:
1. Set your 740N IP address to 192.168.2.254 (so that it's in similar subnet of your 941ND). Reboot and access the 740N setup page using this new IP.
2. Disable DHCP on 740N. This will allow clients to 740N to get IP from your 941ND.
3. Enable WDS Bridge in 740N and set the 'SSID(to be bridge)' box to "STAR" (or your 941ND SSID, without the quotes), and set your 941ND MAC address in the BSSID(to be bridged) box.
4. Reboot your 740N
Please post if the above steps works.

Thanks a lot nrlazmi. I stumbled upon this post while trying to configure TL-WR740N router as WDS to my existing SagemCom Wimax + Wifi router. Your steps were right on target and I was able to set it up in a breeze. Thanks a lot.
One thing which I am still struggling to setup is to ensure internet is accessible from the interface of the 740N. e.g. Get GMT from time menu still says internet not accessible. There is no issue on client machines, its only an issue on the 740N setup menu.
