Default Trouble connecting bridge to Router

Setup is

Cable Modem --> wired router BEFSR41 (MAC cloning and DHCP enabled gateway mode) --> wireless router WRT54G (no MAC cloning DHCP disabled router mode WEP security) ..........wireless connection to ---> WET54G Bridge (no MAC Cloning DHCP disabled same channel (11) and same WEP security info) ::roblem wired connection to:::--> WET54GC (no MAC Cloning DHCP disabled same channel (11) and same WEP security info)

I can connect to a PC or Printer with the WET54G signal so the network works to there.

Each device has a different IP address (from 192.168.1.1 through 192.168.1.4)
I am unable to connect the signal from my bridge to the WRT54GC which I want to use to connect one wired device (the printer) and use as a wireless repeater. Unfortunately I cannot get a signal to go through the WRT54GC (by wire or wireless).

I am certain I am making an idiotic newby mistake but, am at a loss of where to go from here.

Questions.
1.Why are you using the BEFSR41? The WRT54GC functions as a router so why not just use that? Is the WRT54GC located at a distance from the BEFSR41?
2.How have you wired the connection between the 2 routers? Have you connected one of the LAN ports of the BEFSR41 to the WAN port of the WRT54GC or to one of it's LAN ports? If you just want to use the WRT54GC as a wireless Hub(AP?) connect to one of the LAN ports.

Default Here is the additional information

The BEFSR41 and WRT54G are in the main house using 6 of the LAN connections for peripherals and computers.

The WET54G Bridges to the Guest house, it has one LAN port. I want to connect the WET54G to the WRT54GC so that I can repeat the wireless signal and have more than 1 LAN port available in the guest house.

The Cable Modem goes wired to the Intenet port of the BEFSR41. A LAN port of the BEFSR41 goes to a LAN port of the WRT54G. The WRT54G connects wirelessly to the WET54 Bridge. I can use the one LAN port of the WET54G Bridge to connect with a wire to a printer or computer. The problem is if I take that wire and try to connect it to the WRT54GC to use as a switch and get the additional LAN ports and resend the wireless signal, it doesn't work. I must have the WRT54GC set up improperly but don't know what to do.

The 1st two routers are 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2, the bridge is 192.168.1.3 and I have the final router set to 192.168.1.4. All of the wireless devices are on the same SSID with the same WEP ke and all on the same channel (11)

Did you connect the WET to one of the LAN ports on the WRT54GC?
You should also have the WRT54GC set to a different Channel from the other devices but keep the same SSID and encryption. Disable the DHCP on the WRT54GC as well.

Default Thanks

Thank you very much Rob02.

It was the channel interference. As soon as I changed the channel to 1 on the final router it worked perfectly.

I think at some earlier times I may have also had the final link from the bridge to the WAN port of the final router but somehow I corrected that along the way.

Default New Problem with setup

When a client is running on both side I get errors telling me that there are IP conflicts. There is only one router (the first) that has DHCP enabled but I am apparantly getting overlap from somewhere. All of the clients are getting IP addresses automatically from the DHCP server.

Any ideas?

Did you try doing an ipconfig/release followed by an ipconfig/renew on all your clients to see if that cured the problem?
If your printer is in this mix I would suggest you give it a static IP outside the DHCP pool.
Just in case your BEFSR41 router has got its brains scrambled with all your "adjustments" to the network you could try switching it off and back on again.
