Default Weak signal Problem

Quick question here. Hopefully an easy one. I have a friend whose child is in the hospital and will be for some time. The hospital provide free wifi access on their network, but the signal is so weak in their room that it often disappears.

She can't leave her child's bedside, so this is difficult.

Is there an easy way to boost the signal so it is more reliable in their room? I don't mind buying something if it will help her.

Thanks!

you would need cooperation from the hospital staff.

plug one of these in;

WN3000RP

Netgear WN2000RPT Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender - Walmart.com

somewhere the network works, close to the childs room.
