Default Wi-Fi set up Problem!!

Hi, i recently reformatted my hard drive and changed from vista to xp. I got my internet set-up in minutes and my wireless was straightforward too. After logging out and logging back in, my user account password wouldnt work.. so I remembered about a bypass windows password cd i used before.. only this time I could'nt find it. I thougt that the easiest thing to do then would be to reinstall windows AGAIN.. So after reinstalling XP for the 2nd time, i plugged in my ethernet cable and got on the internet, but i cant setup wireless. There is no option to setup wireless, and i cant fully remember how I set it up so quickly the first time. Im confused because there is nowhere to go to see all wireless connections within range - if there was then I could just choose my SSID and put in my network key and I'd be set!. Please has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
