Default Wifi extender problem

I'm trying to set up a Netgear wifi extender - WN 2000RPT - and it's driving me mad.

I can see the extender when I check on my iPad but when I try and use it to connect to the internet I get sent to Netgear Smart Wizard - go though all of that but for some reason it won't connect and just keeps looping nack round to the same Wizard again.

Could someone talk me through the best way to connect my Extension to my existing wifi network - it would be really appreciated.
