Default Wifi says its connecting at 104mpbs, Speedtest says 1mps

Hey everyone, I'm running a wmp600n wireless card, and I've had major issues with it since the start. For the first few days, it would register as connecting at 1mbps. Had to try four different drivers, finally got to where it would read out at 104mpbs. Problem is, my speedtest results are the same, always being around 1mbps.

Is this just normal, where your wireless connection mbps is always significantly different than your speedtest results? Or is something wrong?

Also, when I try to watch movies on netflix, i notice that my wifi connectivity suddenly drops way down, to about 6.5 or 5.5mbps. But when I'm just idling on the internet, it's a solid 104mbps (with sudden drops to 78mbps, and sometimes 34mbps for 1/2 a second).

I do not have direct access to the router as it is in my roommate's room, but I know it's a roadrunner router wireless N.

So is this normal? Or should i get a new card?

Default The promised speed from ISP differs on real time.

Well, the practical experience about the wireless speed differs high time from the promise your ISP makes. e.g if one ISP says that you would get 10Mbps speed, you can expect 4-5Mbps for sure. Anything below that, make you eligible to sue them. Actual speed is based on a lab conditiono.

And again the speed depends on the connectivity and the range. If we talk about the wireless routers (b/g/n), different manufactures promised different ranges. In your case, distance is little more as the router is in the other room. You may talk to your ISP and confirm the range from your router manufacturer as well.
