complete newbie to wireless networking having just bought and installed a Belkin F5D7130 wireless G router which is connected to my NTL Cable modem.
I have an apache web server running on Mac OS X with my private IP address for this machine 192.168.2.2. Using the router configuration panel (accessed by 192.168.2.1) I attempted using the belkin router 'Virtual Servers' page to open my web port 80 for my webhost machine 192.168.2.2 to access my website "d-zine.mine.nu" which uses DNS update (from dyndns.org) to map to my routers WAN IP(80.x.x.x). Using "dig" dns check software I can see that my DNS name does point to my routers address so I believe this to be set up correctly.
Having done this I am still unable to access my page from a machine using 'http://d-zine.mine.nu' from the outside (i.e on the WAN/net) side of my router/modem .
Can anyone help with this??? There seems to be some problem from the traffic getting to my router to my web hosting machine.....
Just a couple of questions.
Did you have a standard non wireless router before or were you directly connected to the cable modem?
Just to do a test you may want to set 192.168.2.2 to DMZ on the Belkin to just see if it works, this should be the same as being plugged directly into the cable modem with no firewall.
