Default Wireless comaptibility: 2wire / blueray wireless

I have a 2Wire DSL router connected by an ethernet connection that we use for wireless communication on our laptop. It works fine.

Just bought an Insignia Blueray player that streams Netflix. Problem is:

Blueray will support WEP Shared or several WPA authentications.

The Motorola 2701 router is set with the WEP Open setting for our laptop. It can be set for WEP shared. It does not support WPA.

So I can stream Netflix by using the shared setting, but it kills my wireless for the laptop, or..

Use the open setting to use wireless on the laptop, but can't stream Netflix with this setting. This is a major pain to manage.

What are my options here? Thanks in advance.
