Default Wireless Internet Problems

Hello, I have been having issues with my wireless internet, and I cannot find the solution to my problem, I'm hoping someone here can help me. See the TLDR below if you don't want to read it all.

About a week ago, I decided to change my wireless settings. I tightened security, increasing the length of my WPA2 Passcode and hiding my SSID. I have 2 computers connected wirelessly to the internet. They were all working fine together, both of them running Windows 7 (one of them a laptop). I recently ran into problems with my desktop running Windows 7, and I decided to put XP on it.

I installed Windows XP, installed the driver for my wireless adapter, and connected to the network. It immediately caused the problem. It seems to only affect my laptop, which can no longer connect to the internet and/or very weak connection as long as the windows XP machine is on and connected. As soon as I turn off the Windows XP PC, the problem disappears.

The computer was using the same wireless adapter before with Windows 7, and it did not interfere with my laptops wireless connection. I'm at a loss trying to get it to work. The only thing I can think of is perhaps the driver for Windows XP for my wireless adapter is to blame. If so, what should I do? Get a new wireless adapter?

Any information you need to help me find the problem, will be provided by request. Thank you.

TLDR: Wireless connection to laptop no longer works after installing Windows XP on my desktop. Did not change my wireless adapter, no changes to laptop.
