Sony handycam HDR-XR500V

My friend asked me to help her burn AVCHD mts files to DVD for watching on TV. She sent me the AVCHD mts files from her 2009 model Sony handycam HDR-XR500V, but the Nero v10 on my computer does not recognize the format. Any help will be appreciated.

You may also try to convert video to any popular format, which is recognized by Nero
