Default Anybody using 2730 with Skype on 3 UK ????

I've just taken delivery two new 2730's. Background in brackets below.

[I bought two FTE F102s and everything was fine with the Skype application on the 3 UK network until I was forced to upgrade to Skype v4 at which point Skype failed to stay logged in when minimised. I reported it as a fault and eventually I was advised that an new 'security feature' had been introduced to log you out after 90 mins but I was being logged out after only a few minutes. So they sent me a pair of 2730s. Incidentally I was subsequently advised by 3 that their S1, S2 and F102 phones should be exempt from the 90min log out but sometimes I think their call centre agents make it up as they go along.]

Back to the plot: I've got the 2730s, like it or lump it. And they do log out after 90mins when minimised. But that's not really a big deal, I just leave the application in the foreground.

But the problem is that I keep getting application errors (string index out of bounds) and Skype crashes. I've narrowed it down to when the phone loses the radio signal. Sometimes I can simply restart Skype, other times the phone locks up completely. I'm dealing with the helpless desk, but everyone knows how slow and painful that can be.

So the question is, as title, is anybody successfully using a 2730 flawlessly with Skype on 3 UK? I'd be interested to know what Nokia firmware and Skype application you are using.

Thanks.

i have used N95 and never faced that situation. my skype used to work fine, indeed it automatically being logged off after 90 minutes but rest of the things were fine. Maybe you should ask the company to help you out with it or you should better change your handset.

Cheers,

Yes, '3' changed my phone for a Sony Ericsson C510. It's perfect, no application errors AND IT DOESN'T LOG OUT AFTER 90 MINUTES. Skype stays logged in for days, even when minimised.
