As per my experience the adverts you see is just to brighten up the phone and to not make it dull, Does the lights on the side light up when you press the camera button? Try to check this first many be your problem will be resolve.
I would recommend a free online service like Zyb -- see link #1 below. It will upload your 6300 messages to its servers, then download them to your new E71.
Once that's done I'd recommend backing up your texts locally to your computer with a free app for S60 handsets -- see link #2.
I such circumstances, You have remove the battery and after few minutes restart it. I am sure that Your problem would be fix it as well. This process is call power recycling. I hope that It should be helpful more as I thought.
The blue lights flash when you have a missed call, message,voice message that you have missed or not opened. they will continue to flash until you have seen your missed call or read your message etc..When I turn on the phone,nothing comes up on the screen,neither the keypad brights, only two blue lights at the sides of the phone turn on and they don't blink.I have tried to flash it but universal box keep sayin to turn on the phone and does read info from the phone.
Well, My colleague is still using this phone. It is really nice phone. He told me that It denotes excellent keypad , innovative screen , and stable OS. Even I will also pan to catch this phone as soon as possible.

Thank God my Nokia 6300 has not given me a problem so far. There might be many smart phones in the market but I don't mind having this reliable phone with me! Cheers!!!
I like Nokia 6300 for many reasons. The first reason is that someone special gifted it to me because of which i will always like this phone and secondly it is a very user friendly phone to have.
