Default Channel to be used for network

So the idea is to have a large network of networks, I see in the Linux AP HOWTO there is a mention about channels needing to be the same:

Yet I have heard no mention from anyone of which channel to use..

Default

the howto is a bit out of date

WDS is a method of access points talking to each other without means of of point to point links, but it does reduce throughput (transfer speeds, etc)

As for channel, use what you want, as long as it doesn't interfere with other access points. There are 3 channels that you can use that don't overlap, 1, 6, 11. This means if there's an AP on channel 1, then it won't interfere with another one near it that's on 6, and so on.

I hope this helps you
