Default Equipment

Time to bug again, if I brought the 19db Parabolic Grid what else would I require and what sort of distance do I get.

For some reason you guys are hooked on specs and not on benefits!!

Cheers :P

Max-dude,

From the dish You would need:

connector from the dish, usually N type. Cable from the connector to a terminating connector. The terminating connector is what ever you need to attach to the AP or the client card that you are connecting to. i.e RPSMA for DLINK or RPTNC for linksys.

Once you have the cable with the two connectors on it, one for the aerial and one for the client or AP card, then you need...... a clinet card or AP.

Depending on what you want to do with your connection then you would choose a client card or a AP. If you just want to connect to some one and not offer incoming connections for others nearby then get the client card. If you would like to accept incoming connections then get an AP.

From the AP you will need some Cat 5 to plug into your computer/hub/firewall box.

And...... your done!

Anything i have missed,,,,, oh yeah distance.

With a 19dbi dish to:

an omni - atleast 3km, would guess at 5km
another 19dbi dish - atleast 5km, should get 8km
Trvln has posted some typical distances in the forums for a better idea.

Questions?

Wookie
