Hamilton wifi revised

i have recently got my self some decent wifi gear 1 watt and 500mw booster,7db and a 15db omni directional antenna and am planing to make a wds wifi network in pukete and flagstaff so far i have tested the 500mw booster with a 7db antenna to my PDA it gets round 2/3km.We will most likely be using Linksys WRT54GL to do the repeting. anyone that is interested in being a repeter let me know we already have houses flagstaff and pukete covered so far and pending in chartwell.still on the drawing bord atm but should be ready with in 2months at the most the first gear will be up in 2 weeks or so.

looks good, although you should be getting more distance out of your gear. I would guess your PDA isn't powerful enough to return the signal from more than 2/3km away

I used to get about 5km with a 9db omni and 30mW card

I am also located in the Chartwell area, on Hukanui Rd. Currently running a WRT54GS with DD-WRT firmware. Have replaced the standard 2.2 dbi antennas with some 7dbi omni's, but not running any amplifiers or rooftop gear. I have been thinking about adding some gear to improve coverage though and would be keen to link up with some other nodes.
