Default Looking for a relay site for a long link

Im soon to be out in the wilderness (real and Internet) with no boradband coverage at all, even dial up is looking to be crappy with 10Km runs to the nearest exchange. Blessing is that the house sites on a high ridge and does get line of site of parts of Auckland city (Balmoral, Onetree hill areas) and the sky tower.

What I'd really like to be able to do is set a link (its about 30km) to a site there and then relay off to an ISP. Anyone got any thoughts on how to achieve this.

And once in place there's 30+ houes in sight that could be offered a community network.

Guy

talk to shadowx about putting a wireless antenna on the skytower, we are currently doing the exact same thing with him.. Getting internet b/w over cat5 cable at skycity and broadcasting it via wifi antennas to remote locations..

Speak to richms - he's keen to get something relaying the city - he can't see the skytower where he lives, but he can see waiatarua.

Thanks for the feed back but both major havoc and richms are below the ridge lines and no line or sight, MH your to far west and sheltered by the Waitakes etc as they come around towards kumeu. Richmc is hidden by the Greenheith ridge
