Default Point to Point links - adhoc or bridged?

Looking around, most of the hardware access point vendors state you can only bridge to there brand of hardware. I am thinking that I will be able to get 2 worthwhile point to point links going on from here, but am wondering if hardware bridges is the right way to go about it, or if I should just have a card in ad-hoc mode with whoever is at the other end of it.

Also, for a point to point link, who will handle the assignment of the /30 used between the 2 ends? I was thinking of just using privates from a different range (Prob 172.16.x.x) since they will never be seen from the client PCs. there seems to be a lack of detail on how that side of the network will be built.

Default PtP

There is a lack of detail, as I'm working through the solution ATM, based on WDS.

I'll post to the list when the HOWTO is updated.
