Default Router site tracking

I have a router provided to me by my company to work from home when required.

This is at a remote location to work (my home) and I have a home pc linked by wire. I pay my own ISP.

My work laptop is linked by wifi to the router and if I need to access work email or other files I activate a VPN.

I am concerned that my company could track my private internet usage on my private machine via the router. Is this possible? Thinking logically my private computer would send a request through the router to the ISP and there would be no way that the company could get to my broadband connection.

Could anybody un/confirm and explain the processes. I do not have the access codes for the router as work set it all up.

Thanks

VPN transfers data with encryption. Unless your company wants to crack your computer...
